Mussoorie!!!! A famous hill station and this Monsoon queen is situated in Dehradun district in the northern Indian state on Uttrakhand. Its a popular hill station amongst northern India and approximate 300km from the Delhi.
Like every year, we were so confused about the place to trip in rainy season; but eventually we decided to go mussoorie. We cancelled our plan for Kerala at last moment and set for 4 days mussoorie that night for 4 days.

We preferred train as this offers the most convenient and pocket friendly way to reach Mussoorie. Train ‘Dehradun Shatabdi Express’ tooks approximate 6 hours to reach Dehradun, from Dehradun you can take Cabs from Taxi stand just outside the Dehradun railway station to reach Mussoorie in approximate 1.30 hours. On the way you can enjoy lip licking foods to fix your hunger from series of Dhaba’s on Dehradun-Mussoorie road. We stop at ‘Mayur Punjabi Dhaba‘, they offer lip smacking spicy food along with amazing view of mountain range.
On the way to Mussoorie you will find mesmerizing view of mountain range covered with green blanket and kissing clouds all over.
The Cabs from Dehradun goes upto Mussoorie Taxi stand, from here you can take ‘Rickshaws’ to reach hotels or you can coordinate with Hotel staffs to pick you from Library chowk (100mtr from Taxi stand).
I would say, Mussoorie is more for relaxing purpose, where you can enjoy the nature, clouds and rains; which makes everything so fresh and rejuvenating. You can also take a walk to explore the Mall Road, street shopping and have roadside eateries like Samosa, Pakodas, Chai, Roasted Corn and Sweets.
In open sunny weather, you can get a clear view of Himalayan mountain range, green valley and a clear blue sky; a kaleidoscope of the nature. In rainy season, however clouds play hide and seek for whole day; rain for some times mostly in afternoon. You can enjoy the drizzling and showers while eating Maggie, Samosa, Pakodas & Chai (Tea).
The major attractions in mussoorie are Red Tibba, Kempty Fall, Gun Hill point, and Mall road. If you want a one & half hour drive then you can also enjoy the Danaulti (beautiful place to visit). However in rainy season, like in August, you will not find the clear view of mountains because of heavy clouds.
Mussoorie is also known for flowers and here you will find the rare, colorful and beautiful flowers. As I’m fond of flowers so captured all of them.
So, plan your vacations to chase hypnotic clouds, drench in romantic rains, and sense the magic of miraculous landscape in the lap of the nature.
